Posted on April 20, 2010

StreetsvilleBowlThere is a combination Parents Meeting and Kid’s Bowling Night:

April 22, 2010
7:00pm

Streetsville Bowl
128 Queen Street South
Mississauga, Ontario

[Map…]

The cost is $10 per child and includes unlimited bowling, a pizza slice, and pop. Siblings are welcome.

Please let me know asap how many kids will be attending from your family so we can organize the pizza order. The money will be collected at Streetsville Bowl.

Parents will meet to discuss the team rules and seasonal plan. We will also size the kids for jackets, track suits, etc. so it is important to attend.

If there are any older siblings wishing to earn community service hours, we need a couple of volunteers to supervise the team while the parents are having the meeting. Please let Mike or Pam know if you have a child who would be interested.

Public and Private Calendars

Posted on May 9, 2010; updated Aug 31, 2010

The team calendar has become two calendars, one public, one private.

The public calendar appears where the calendar has appeared up to now, accessed using the Calendar menu item in the vertical menu on the left side of the page. The only difference is that events considered private have been removed from it: for example, practices and exhibition games.

The new private calendar appears in the same section as the Confidential page, and is protected by the same username and password. There are two ways to get to the private calendar: (a) by going to the Confidential page, where a small menu (depicted at the right) appears near the top right of the page; or (b) by going to the public calendar, where a link to the private calendar now appears in the first paragraph. The private calendar lists all events, as before, including events which aren’t considered public.

Aug 31 Update : the Public Calendar has been updated so that it will include practices and exhibition games if you have ever entered the password to the Confidential page or Private Calendar. Thursday Practices

Posted on October 3, 2010

This is an important note on our Thursday evening practices at the Hershey Center Main Bowl, starting this coming Thursday. We are contracted to have this ice from 5:30pm to 6:20pm and we have it listed on our team website as such. However this is the 3rd season I have used this time slot. In my experience with Hershey, if the team is respectful of the facility we can generally get on the ice at 5pm.

This extra period of ice can be used to practice shooting and have a weekly scrimmage, something that is lacking in today’s minor hockey due to time constrictions. I believe it will be very useful to the player’s development, and although it isn’t mandatory to be there for 5pm, as practice will start promptly at 5:30pm, I strongly urge you to get there early. I will be there to watch the players and I hope the kids will enjoy and take advantage of this extra time.
