The Majors were declared the tournament winner after a savage thunderstorm made it impossible to finish the final game. The Majors were in first place when the final game began, and were ahead when the storm struck.
The Majors' second game was marred by quirky officiating, by umpires who appeared to be less than aware.
Majors Golden in NiagaraThe Mississauga Minor Mosquito AAA Majors won gold at the Greater Niagara Baseball Association tournament in Niagara Falls recently.
On their way to the gold medal, (the) Majors defeated Niagara Falls 11-1, Woodbridge 12-9, Niagara Falls B 7-2, and then went on to defeat Niagara Falls B in the semi-finals, 14-3.
The championship game against St. Catherines was interrupted and cancelled due to stormy weather.
The Majors were awarded the gold due to their undefeated record.
