Special Report - Ontario Finals

We won second place in the OBA AA Finals, with 4 wins and 2 losses.

OBA Medal

The finals took place in Brantford Sep 3-6.

The 12 competitors were Ajax, Hamilton, Kitchener, Mississauga Majors, Mississauga North Wildcats, Niagara Falls, Oakridge, Richmond Hill Phoenix, Riverside, Sarnia, Martingrove, and the Vaughan Vikings.

Our game results were:

  • Majors vs Oakridge: won 7-0. We took an early lead, and steadily increased our lead throughout the game.
  • Majors vs Niagara Falls: won 2-0. This game was a real pitcher’s battle, with strong defensive play by both teams.
  • Majors vs Ajax: lost 1-11. We were not as bad as the score might suggest: the score was 1-4 after the 5th inning, with the Ajax runs largely due to errors; Ajax scored its final runs against a new pitcher.
  • Majors vs Niagara Falls: won 7-5. This was a very close game between well-matched teams.
  • Majors vs Sarnia: won 4-3. This also was a very close game between well-matched teams.
  • Majors vs Ajax: lost 3-11. This earned us second place in the Ontario Finals.

After Winning Second Place in the OBA Finals

Games were played at Cockshutt Park. To get there: take the QEW west; switch to the 403 near Hamilton; continue on the 403, and exit at Highway 24 (King George); turn south on King George, and continue as it changes to St Paul, turning left at Brant; continue southeast on Brant, then turn right at Colborne, and right at Oak, which leads to the park entrance.
