A Message From The Head Coach

Welcome again players, parents and sponsors. We are embarking on a new season. The face of this year’s team has changed, as have the Mississauga Majors: Bloor, Cawthra and the Majors have now combined under one banner, called the Mississauga Majors Baseball Association.

Last year’s team came from out of nowhere to win the Central Ontario Baseball Association’s tier II crown, and followed this by winning the silver medal in the Ontario Championships. This year’s edition will continue to provide young teens an opportunity to play baseball at an elite level. Our mission is to build and to learn about working, playing, experiencing the feeling of winning, coping with losses, and — most of all — becoming a well-rounded person.

As with any association there are operational costs: equipment, baseballs, tournaments, and umpire fees are just some of these. We are requesting that, as parents and team members, you help offset these costs by securing a sponsor to enable us to meet our goal. A sponsorship letter is available which tells potential sponsors about our needs. And remember: one of our biggest selling-points for any potential sponsor is our website, which projects a professional, personalized, well-managed look. This will, on it’s own, surely impress any sponsor.

The winter program will start on Friday November 26 at 7-8pm at the Baseball Zone. This will continue every Friday through to March 11. Beginning on Thursday February 3 2005 at 8-10pm we will begin training in the gym at Camilla Rd. Sr. P.S. This year’s campaign will stress discipline, hard work, and consistency, which will play to our strengths. There will be ups and downs, smiles and frowns. But we are and will be a close-knit group of players and parents which will look to each other for support.

Please feel free to contact me at any time with any questions or comments. And remember, this is our team.

Thanks,
Carlos Ramirez
